Migrate content

To move your content, especially if you have a large database (> 2M), there are few things you need to tweak.

Default PHP setting allows only file upload of 2M only so you’ll need to change your php.ini file. To make sure you’ll be changing the right file, prepare a simple page to load in your browser to show echo phpinfo() you’ll find the full path of your php.ini file.

In my case I have allowed file upload to 20M so I just doubled all default figures for post_max_size, memory_limit in addition to changing upload_max_filesize to 20M.

For LEMP you’ll need to add below lines to /etc/nginx/nginx.conf file to avoid getting 413 entity too large when running phpmyadmin to import database.

http {
client_max_body_size 20M;
client_body_buffer_size 256k;

For LAMP I suggest you first optimize your server first if it is of small memory foot print before you attempt any large file upload.
